We are aware of a rise in the area of Covid, Strep A, and Sickness. We have a confirmed case of Strep A in school and over the last fortnight there has been a significant rise in children not able to come to school due to sickness.
We have to follow WCBC and Public Health Wales advice that in the event of diarrhoea and/or vomiting, children cannot return to school within 48 hours of the last episode. We have been asked previously to accept children back to school as they appeared to be well but we have to follow policy so that we can protect other children and staff.
In the case of Strep throat, antibiotics are required and children can return (if fit to do so) after 24 hours.
