It’s been fantastic to see so many pupils/ex pupils/staff/family members get involved in running club this year! With the weather set to be fair this week, it would be lovely to see many of you back at running club this week!
Last year, we were visited by a co-ordinator of the Junior Parkrun in Alyn Waters in Wrexham who spoke to the children about the benefits of parkrun. Parkrun is a fantastic way to improve our mental and physical health in a friendly and encouraging environment.
The Junior Parkrun in Alyn Waters, which I know some of our pupils have attended, is a 2km course in which children, from the ages of 4-14, can complete at their own pace!
On Sunday, 22nd March, some of our staff will be marshalling the Junior Parkrun and we’d love for as many of the Ysgol Acrefair pupils to attend, even those that don’t go to running club. We are also looking into making this a sponsored event and if you’d like to get a sponsorship form, please see Mr Allman this week. The run will start at 9am at Alyn Waters and you must register before taking part in the run (please bring your barcode). Unfortunately, you will have to make your own way to and from the event.
For more information and to register for the run, please see the attached link below.
