Wrexham in 100 Objects

In March this year we are organising a shared exhibition answering the question ‘what makes Wales Special?’ and linking to the theme ‘Wrexham in 100 objects’.
We would like to invite all children to bring one item each relating to the theme Wrexham in 100 objects with the aim of getting families talking about their special memories (past and present) of Wrexham, the people who live here and the places we visit.
Objects could include actual items or photographs of them, they could be leaflets for favourite places, photographs or models of places; any item which provokes a conversation about Wrexham and it’s people, places, memories, history, heritage and so on.
They don’t have to all be from the past- they may relate to Wrexham nowadays too.
All children will have chance to look at the items regardless of whether they contribute however we would love for as many people as possible to be involved to help make sure that the children have lots to look at and explore.
Some items already include: medals/photographs of family members from Wrexham who are named on local cenotaphs or who fought in WW2,
A book showing Acrefair in the past
Maps of the local area as it used to be Information linked to the local factories and other business from the area Photographs of parents/grandparents in local schools
 Ruabon red-brick
Leaflets or photographs of families at local landmarks
 All ideas welcome.
We look forward to seeing everyone’s ideas after half term. Please do make sure anything brought into school is clearly labelled and packaged safely.
Photographs of items that aren’t able to be sent in can be emailed to HalleyC@hwbcymru.net
 Many thanks
