Estyn Report

I hope you are all having a lovely summer.
We are absolutely delighted to share our fantastic Estyn report with everyone. 😀
Over the past year, there have been many changes within the school, but our staff, governors and, most importantly, our children have embraced these developments wholeheartedly. Significant improvements to our learning environment, alongside changes to the way we teach literacy and mathematics, have had a positive impact across the school, and we are thrilled that this has been recognised in our recent Estyn report.
We are particularly proud that the report highlights the excellent attitudes and behaviour of our pupils, noting that “they work well with others and behave very well, contributing to a calm and purposeful learning environment.” This is a wonderful reflection of our children’s commitment to learning and the positive culture that exists throughout the school.
We are also especially proud that the outstanding work of Mrs Halley and the staff has been acknowledged through the report’s recognition of her work in promoting a strong sense of Cynefin through local connections and community engagement.
It truly is a privilege to be part of such an amazing school community. The support of our families, governors, staff and wider community helps make Ysgol Acrefair such a special place to learn and grow.
We are excited about what the future holds and look forward to building on this success. We are particularly excited to celebrate 150 years of Ysgol Acrefair with our whole community next year, as well as welcoming visits from our new school dog, Ronnie, who is already bringing smiles to faces across the school.
Thank you to everyone who has played a part in this achievement. Together, we look forward to continuing our journey and providing the very best opportunities for all our children. 🎉📚🐾💙💛
