Access to Tower View during building works

Dear parents/carers,
Over the next half term there will be an increase in the number of contractors entering and exiting the school site as the refurbishment of the activity centre continues with pace.
As you are aware, from February 3rd we asked that parents did not use Tower View after 8:20 am , unless they have previously agreed disabled access, and we placed temporary barriers across the entrance. We did this to ensure that staff/visitors  can safely access the staff car park and to ensure the safety of pedestrians/children  by reducing the traffic flow on Tower View.
Despite this request,  we have noticed over the last two weeks that this is sometimes being ignored, creating a very dangerous situation. Parents and children are regularly being seen in the staff car park, cars are being left at the barriers unattended, or barriers are moved. It has become necessary to ask the Police/Health and Safety for advice.
Following this we have had to make the decision that from 3rd March until the building works are completed, there will be no vehicle access on Tower View except for staff, visitors, deliveries and contractors and disabled /previously arranged access.
Thankfully the days are getting warmer and brighter. For the next six weeks, we kindly ask you to review your transport to school arrangements,  and if possible walk or park further away and walk the last bit to school.
We appreciate your help and patience with this vital matter.
