Jewellery in School

As we settle into the new school year, I would like to send a polite reminder regarding our expectations for jewellery, make-up and false nails in school.
For health and safety reasons, children should not wear jewellery to school, with the exception of small stud earrings. Hoop earrings must not be worn, as they can easily become caught during play or physical activities and may cause injury. Children who arrive at school wearing hoop earrings will be encouraged to remove them.
We also ask that children do not wear make-up to school.
In addition, false nails should not be worn. These can present a significant safety risk, both to the child wearing them if they become caught on equipment, and to other children who may be accidentally scratched whilst playing.
We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe and appropriate learning environment for all pupils.
Thank you for your cooperation.
