We have had a couple of cases of scarlet fever in school over the last few weeks which can be a difficult to spot illness as the first symptoms present as a cold which of course is very common at this time of year. If your child has a sore throat please check for other symptoms as indicated on the NHS site. It is important that antibiotics are given early in order to prevent the spread and to aid recovery.
