Positive covid cases in Year 2

Message from  Test, Trace & Protect Team

Dear Parent/Carer,
Your child, in Year 2  has been identified as a possible non-household close contact of a confirmed case of Covid 19. Recently, we have identified an increased number of cases in this group. However, unless your child is displaying any Covid symptoms, they are not required to self-isolate.
The advice from Public Health Wales is that if your child is aged between 5 and 18 years of age, and not within 90 days of a positive PCR test, then they should:
· take a PCR test on as soon as possible and again 8 days after this test.
· try to minimise contact with others as much as possible and avoid crowded-settings;
· NOT visit vulnerable people such as those in care homes or hospitals;

· Pay extra attention to thorough and regular hand washing and, if at secondary school, wear a face covering.
